HELENA – The Helena Capital football team is ready to start its push back to the playoffs Friday morning as the Bruins took the field for the first time for fall practice.
“We’ve spent a lot of time together this summer,” said Bruins head coach Kyle Mihelish. “Going to camp and doing those type of things. We just need to keep getting better. We have a good strong solid base, whether it be fundamentally and a good solid base of personnel guys, but we just got to get better every day.”
“It’s kind of a huge relief,” added quarterback Matt McGinley. “Just a lot of build up for it. We’re really excited, it’s been a long wait, a long summer. We’ve been doing lots of training. It’s nice just to be out here and actually the first real practice. It’s just really nice.”
The Bruins open the season agains Great Falls High at home on Aug. 25.
