BOZEMAN – Two more wins and the Bozeman Bucks can reach their first goal.

If Bozeman beats the Kalispell Lakers on Thursday and Friday at Griffin Field in the Flathead, the Bucks will earn the No. 1 seed entering next week’s Montana-Alberta State AA Legion Tournament. The Bucks could also clinch the top seed with one win and a loss from teams directly below them in the standings.

Bozeman (13-3) hosts this year’s state tournament at Heroes Park, a diamond where the Bucks have dropped only two league contests all season. The tournament begins on Wednesday, August 26.

Following a mid-week sweep over Butte, the Helena Senators have climbed to No. 2 in the conference. Dave Thennis’ club owns a 12-4 record heading into their conference finales at the Billings Royals on Thursday and Friday. The Senators travel to Bozeman for a non-conference affair on Sunday.
