HELENA – Kaleb Winterburn has given a verbal commitment to Jeff Choate and the Montana State football program, MTN Sports confirmed on Wednesday. Skyline Sports was the first to report the news.

Winterburn, a senior-to-be quarterback, saw significant improvements under center in coach Tony Artnson’s offense at Helena High last season. Starting for the first time, Winterburn threw for nearly 1,700 yards as a junior, tossing 13 touchdowns compared to six interceptions. He also rushed for 200 yards and one touchdown.

Winterburn tells MTN Sports Choate and the Bobcats recruited him as an athlete.

“They say I could play anywhere, but are also recruiting me at safety,” Winterburn said.
