GREAT FALLS – The Great Falls Voyagers have started the 2017 season 4-0 after defeating the Helena Brewers 2-1 in 10 innings at Centene Stadium on Thursday.

The Brewers jumped on the scoreboard in the top of the second inning when Antonio Pinero shot a ball straight to Anthony Villa, but the ball ricocheted off Villa’s shoulder and Charlie Meyer came around to score and give the Brewers a 1-0 lead.

The Voyagers kept leading runners stranded on base, with two innings ending in Helena double plays. But Great Falls managed to tie up the game in the bottom of the ninth on a sac fly from Craig Dedelow. The game was sealed by the Voyagers in the bottom of the 10th off an RBI single from Tate Blackman. Tyler Frost came into score, giving Great Falls the 2-1 win.

The Voyagers next play Missoula on the road on Friday at 7:05 p.m. The Brewers will be back home against Billings.
