BILLINGS – What a difference a week makes. One week after losing to the Billings Scarlets 11-2, the Billings Royals delivered an absolute gem in shutting out the Scarlets 4-0 on Friday night at Dehler Park.

The Royals plated three runs in the bottom of the second, highlighted by a pair of RBI singles from Carson Jones and Connor Polkowske.

Polkowske did stop there, adding a two RBI single in the bottom of the fourth on his way to a 2-5 night.

Those four runs were more than enough for the Royals pitching staff. Tyler Frieders went seven strong, allowing only two hits and striking out seven, while Cameron Maciel closed it out with two shutout innings of his own.
