GREAT FALLS – The Great Falls Chargers Legion Baseball team is riding high off of winning the entire Memorial Weekend tournament in Missoula. The team didn’t win a single game in that same tournament last year, so hopes are high for the Chargers heading down the final two months of the season.

“This year is a different crew because it’s a lot of the core that’s already been through it before,” said head coach Levi Johnson. “They know what to expect and they know how to prepare. A big difference just from a year of these guys getting experience, that’s helped us out this year.”

“Last year I think we were nervous because we were playing tough teams and we saw a couple scouts,” said pitcher and infielder Chase Linn. “This year we’ve had a lot of kids return from AA last year. We’re not trying to yank the ball, we’ve been having good approaches at the plate so that’s what helped us in that tournament.”

The 13-11 Chargers head to play Lewistown on the road this Saturday at 7 p.m.
