MISSOULA – What a difference a year makes for the Great Falls Chargers. The Legion Baseball team entered the Missoula Memorial Weekend Tournament last year, and came out with zero wins. This year, the Chargers won the entire tournament.

Great Falls beat Vauxhall Academy in the championship game, 7-4, behind a strong outing by pitcher Chase Linn. The Chargers jumped to a 4-0 lead, the Jets would claw back late into the game, but Great Falls would score three more runs late to secure the championship.

Great Falls started the weekend by beating Vauxhall 6-4 on Saturday, but lost to the Coeur d’Alene Lumbermen 5-3 on the same day. The team rebounded by beating the Helena Senators 4-3 on Sunday and beating the Bozeman Bucks 9-5 Monday morning, securing a spot in the tournament championship.

The next game for the Chargers will be on the road this Friday at Lewistown at 7 p.m.
