SIDNEY – The Belgrade softball team has dominated its opponents all season long. The Panthers maintained that dominance on Championship Saturday, beating Hamilton 15-0 in the semifinal game and then knocking off perennial powerhouse Frenchtown for the title.

A two-out double by Presley Jacobsen gave Belgrade a 3-0 lead in the second and then the Panthers got three more in the sixth thanks to a Frenchtown error.

In the semifinal game, Belgrade ripped five home runs with junior Ty Atwood blasting three of them. Haylee Curry hit a grand slam.

Belgrade played four games at the State A tournament and won by a combined score of 42-3, never allowing more than one run in any game.
