GREAT FALLS – The CMR softball team continued to roll in the first round of the State AA tournament. The Rustlers got on the board first in the bottom of the second inning when Sam Payne smacked a Kaylee Rosenbaum pitch to right field. Katie Huisman would come into score and CMR was up 1-0.

Later in the inning, Madi Payne hit a ball to center field that bounced over the wall for a ground-rule double, scoring another run for CMR. The Rustlers would then ride to a four-run fifth inning, which resulted in a 6-0 win.

Rustler ace Tristin Achenbach had an incredible 20 strikeouts in the win.

The Rustlers will move on to play No. 2 seed Helena at 10 a.m. at the Great Falls Multi-Sport Complex.
