BILLINGS – A day after sweeping a doubleheader with Western Oregon, MSUB had to settle for a heartbreaking split on Sunday afternoon.

The Yellowjackets took game one 5-3 behind a late 2-run homer from Kelsey Devlin. Devlin went 2 for 2 in the contest with 3 RBI and 2 runs scored. Cameron Cassinelli had the other 2-RBI’s and Maddy Lincoln went the distance on the mound to improve her record to 7-7 on the season.

In the night cap, the Yellowjackets looked well on their way to defeat. MSUB trailed 18-8 heading into the bottom of the 7th inning and then the bats came to life. Megan Dettling went deep twice in the final frame and Emma Tucker blasted a grand slam as the ‘Jackets scored 10 runs in the inning to tie the game and force extras.

The Wolves got right back off the mat in the top of the 8th inning.  Jenna Kelly singled to right field to score Ryanne Huffman and that proved to be the game-winner as the MSUB offense could not push across a run in the bottom half.
