BUTTE–It took nearly every second of regulation, but a Petr Panacek goal with 5.6 seconds remaining gave the Butte Cobras a 3-2 victory over the Bellingham Blaze and the team’s first playoff series victory in its three-year history.

Panacek was one of three different Cobras to find the back of the net, joining Tyson Liverance and Jan Marcilis. Butte out-shot the Blaze, 41-17.

The Cobras finished their season series a perfect 8-0 against Bellingham and outscored the Blaze, 43-12.

Butte will travel to Southern Oregon to take on the Spartans in the next round.
