GREAT FALLS – Sometimes, you just need a hug.

That’s what Cooper Crosby figured the Billings West High Golden Bear mascot could use Saturday after both West teams lost at the State AA basketball tournament.

Crosby saw the mascot sitting alone at the top of the baseline bleachers inside the Montana ExpoPark in Great Falls, and walked up to offer his condolences. Crosby hugged the bear, and then covered his ears for the impending horn.

Dad Brian Crosby is the head coach of the Great Falls CMR varsity girls team, and tweeted the video out Saturday, saying, “Of all the memories I will have about this state tournament. Coop comforting the West bear is tops. #russellhustle #sadbear”
