BILLINGS — Kyle Olson scored 29 points to help lead Three Forks to a 63-56 win over Red Lodge in the consolation final at the Class B girls basketball state tournament at Rimrock Auto Arena.

Olson made 10-of-16 field goal attempts, including 6-of-9 3-pointers, as the Wolves battled back from a first-round loss to Malta to claim the third-place trophy. Three Forks defeated Wolf Point in a Saturday morning loser-out game, while Red Lodge topped Florence to advance to the consolation final.

Red Lodge, which got 26 points from Natalie Hilderman and 14 from Kylie Kelly, fell into a 21-10 hole at the end of the first quarter. The Rams trailed by as many as 13 points in the second quarter, but rallied to close within four points in the fourth quarter.

The Wolves held off the comeback, though, limiting Red Lodge to just 38 percent shooting for the game.

Shainy Mack added 15 points and five assists for the Wolves, and Josee Scott, one of two seniors on the team, chipped in 11 points. As a team, Three Forks made 47 percent of its field goals and 48 percent of its 3-point attempts, making 11-of-23 shots from behind the arc.
