For the first time since 1993, Montana State’s women are headed to the NCAA Basketball Tournament. The Bobcats beat Idaho State in the finals of the Big Sky tournament, 62-56 on Saturday afternoon. Sophomore Annika Lai broke open a tight game in the fourth quarter with six straight points, and then the Bobcats iced it late at the free throw line.

MSU was down by ten in the first quarter but rebounded to take a two point lead at the half. Senior Peyton Ferris led the scoring with 23 points while fellow Senior, Riley Nordgaard had a double double with 16 points and ten rebounds.

Ferris was named most valuable player in the tournament and Nordgaard joined her on the First Team.

Montana State will find out on Monday who they play in the first round of the NCAA tournament.
