HELENA – Carson Cunningham and Carroll College surged to the top spot in the Frontier Conference, winning their final four games of the regular season.

The Saints’ play drew the attention of those around the country as Carroll College vaulted to No. 4 in the latest NAIA polls.

Carroll won 14 of 16 games in the new year, including a 10-game win streak to begin 2017, as they held off rival Montana Western for the top seed in the conference tournament. Carroll will host the lowest remaining seed on Saturday in the semifinals. The men’s championship game is slated for Tuesday evening.

The Bulldogs jumped three spots into a tie for 10th place. Steve Keller’s program also receives a bye until Saturday’s semifinals.

Lewis-Clark State is the only other Frontier Conference program to receive votes from NAIA coaches.
