BOZEMAN – The Montana State women are a huge favorite to win their 23rd consecutive home game in Saturday’s Cat/Griz game. It’s their chance to sweep Montana for the first time in 18 years.
One of the reasons for the Bobcat success this season, is the play of Delaney Junkermier. It was Junkermier, you’ll remember, who scored the tying basket in Missoula, when MSU was down nine with two m9inutes to play.
The Spokane junior, is the fourth leading scorer on the team and has raised her average to seven points per game. But Junkermier is proud of more than her scoring.
“I think it’s improved a lot,” claims Junkermier, talking about her shooting. “More on the defensive end. Obviously my shots haven’t been really falling, so I decided to figure out other aspects of my game and so the defensive end has really picked up as well as my rebounding and trying to contribute any way possible. Anything that can help us win, all I’m focused on is getting a win every single game and definitely having a better outcome than last year.”
