BILLINGS – The Rocky Mountain College men capped their biggest weekend in years Saturday with an 80-72 win No. 13 UM-Western at the Fortin Center.
The win came on the heels of Thursday’s 82-79 over No. 8 Carroll, and marks the Bears’ fourth victory in five games.
Zach Hinton led Rocky with 23 points and 14 rebounds while the Bears made 14 three-pointers. Riley Bradshaw and Chad Kananen each made four on their way to 17 and 14 points, respectively. Taylor Longo chipped in 13 and eight assists.
Dom Robinson led the Bulldogs with 15.
Taylor Howlett meanwhile hit a three with under five seconds to play to give UM-Western’s 22nd-ranked women a 67-64 win over Rocky in the first game of the doubleheader.
Aniese Palmore drove and kicked it out to Howlett on the left wing – her only made three of the game. Brandy Kumm attempted a would-be tying half-courter at the buzzer that glanced off the left side of the rim.
Cierra Lamey led the Bulldogs with 16 points, including 4-6 from three. Alecia Chamberlain led Rocky with 15 on 7-9 FG.
