DILLON — It is said that lightning never strikes the same place twice.
Montana Western’s electric second-half performance sparked a huge road win against rival Carroll College in December, but the Bulldogs aren’t allowing themselves to end up in a similar situation when the two teams square off in Dillon Thursday night.
“We definitely didn’t have the first half that we wanted to at all [in the first game],” said Western forward Riley King. “We were pretty fortunate to have the second half that we did. … I think Carroll is a tremendous team, and that was a pretty rare occurrence, is them being able to blow that lead. Hopefully, we come out to a good start this time, and we don’t put ourselves in that situation.”
King’s teammate, Dom Robinson, knows that the Saints will be marching into Dillon with revenge on their minds.
“That definitely can’t happen against Carroll,” Robinson said. “The first time, we got down 20 and we had to fight back from that. … We beat them at their house last time, so, I mean, they’re obviously gonna try to come in and outplay us.”
