BILLINGS – Christmas came a little early for the Rocky Mountain College basketball team on Friday afternoon. Head coach Bill Dreikosen confirmed to MTN Sports that Billings Skyview point guard RayQuan Evans has committed to the Battlin’ Bears for next season.

It’s a big get for Rocky, as the 18-year-old Evans has led the Falcons to back-to-back Class AA state titles and they are the favorites for a three-peat this season.

Evans opened eyes as a sophomore by starting on one of the deepest teams in Montana history. That team included current Oregon State guard Kendal Manuel.

Last season, Evans led the Falcons in all major categories. The 6-foot-3 Evans put up averages of 14.5 points, 5.7 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game. He led Skyview in scoring for nine of the team’s 20 games.

Several Division I schools had been recruiting the athletic guard, but he chose to stay at home in the Magic City.
