BUTTE – Montana Tech head women’s basketball coach Carly Sanon announced the commitment of Mesa Williams from White Sulphur Springs.

“Mesa can play and defend multiple positions,” said Sanon. “She is long, athletic and is a great shooter. She fits our system perfectly.”

The 6-foot guard is a two-time all-state selection already for the Hornets and was all-conference her freshman year. Last season she averaged 14 points, eight rebounds, three steals and two assists.

Williams was also a force on the volleyball court, earning four all-conference selections and all-state as a junior and senior. She also reached the state finals in track and field last spring.

Williams’ success is not just in athletics. She carries a 4.0 grade point average, serves as the student body president, and is a member of the National Honor Society.

“I chose Montana Tech because of the great educational opportunities and the inviting family feel within the basketball program and around campus,” said Williams.
