Bozeman – The Big Sky preseason top ranked Montana State woman’s basketball team held their annual Blue/Gold Scrimmage last night, with the Blue squad winning over the Gold 83-73.
Lead by conference preseason MVP Peyton Ferris with her game high 16-points, the cats won but still have a lot to work on according to head coach Tricia Binford.

” The biggest thing is taking away the things that we can start removing off of film. There’s a lot of good surprises on the defensive end,” Binford said. “I think transition defense is always your first thing in the early goings. That’s not up to par. So we got to get those things going. We want to do a better job of getting matched, matching up the shooters. Sarah Balian, our former bobcat, actually put up quite a few three’s and after the first one we need to have a little bit more urgency. And the turnover count I think we continue to take care of the basketball a little bit more, that helps us on the defensive end.”

Montana State opens their exhibition season against Rocky Mountain College on November 3rd.
