MALTA – The Malta Mustangs scored a touchdown with one second left on the clock, but Glasgow stuffed the 2-point conversion to preserve a 34-33 win. The Scotties earned the District 2B championship and the No. 1-seed from the league heading into the postseason.

Malta will be the No. 2-seed from District 2B.

Darrin Wersal found Cade Myrick for the first score of the game, but Malta responded with an Ostin Welch score. The Scotties took a 20-7 lead after Wersal’s 34-yard scoring pass to Nolan Viste with an attempted 2-point conversion no good.

That miss came into play at the end of the game, but Malta couldn’t convert on the 2-point conversion.

  1. Just a side note, great article, but the missed “pat” for Glasgow was a two point conversion try. Which in my humble opinion was unnessisary at that point of the game.
