BOZEMAN — Montana State has to solve a huge problem as it gets set to host highly explosive Northern Arizona on Saturday. The Bobcat offense is going to have to do what they did in the first three quarters at Sacramento State, and avoid the absolute letdown they experienced in the fourth quarter against both Sac State and North Dakota.
Offensive coordinator Courtney Messingham is well aware of the problem.
“Fourth-quarter issues, and third-down issues go hand-in-hand, because it’s still moving the chains,” Messingham said. “When you’re trying to move the chains to grind the game out, you can’t have mental mistakes and you have to make the play when it’s in front of you. And unfortunately for two games in a row, we’ve had mental mistakes in the fourth quarter.”
