HELENA – Carroll College forward Michaela Kueffler scored a game-winning goal over Northwest Christian and tallied an assist against Corban to help the Saints’ women’s soccer team go 2-0 to start Cascade Conference play and earn conference Offensive Player of the Week honors.
The Saints moved to 5-3 on the season and are one of just three teams to make it through the first week of conference play unscathed.
Kueffler notched her goal on a cross from Taryn Neameyer in the 52nd minute of the Saints’ 1-0 win over Northwest Christian Friday in Eugene, Ore.
Saturday, she notched an assist on an equalizer goal against Corban when her shot attempt went to Charly Clements, who buried the ball to tie the match 1-1, a game the Saints would win 2-1.
Carroll is plays at home Thursday at 4 p.m. at Nelson Stadium.
