Damon Turbitt is the newest member of the MTN sports team. He moved to Montana during the 2016 summer after graduating from Emerson College in Boston in May with a degree in journalism. He is currently the sports reporter for KXLF in Butte.

Sports are his passion. He loves to both play and report on any sport, from the basketball court to the tennis court. He is a fan of the outdoors and has been blown away by the beautiful terrain that the Treasure State has to offer.

He doesn’t want to just report on scores, although he does enjoy watching any sporting event. He wants to share the great, untold stories of local athletes who shine when the game is over. Excelling in the community and classroom, overcoming odds, or just having a unique story that is tough to categorize, are subjects that Damon takes pride in covering.

He likes to talk … a lot. Don’t be shy, because he’s not. Send a story idea about a great Montanan or simply welcome him to his new home by reaching out to him via email at dturbitt@kxlf.com or on Facebook. Throw him a like while you’re at it.
